A collaborative soundscape and mural, Lakescape pays homage to the Lake Champlain water basin. A permanent installation, this immersive project transforms the lower level hallway into an impression of the lake. Each side of the hallway specifically corresponds to places both in Vermont and New York through visual details and field recordings from selected locations such as Barn Rock Bay, Maquam Bay, the mouth of the Boquet River, Burlington‘s Church Street, and more. As you walk through the hallway take note of the subtle shifts in visual and audio perspective.
Lakescape is a dual collaboration between Champlain College Faculty and Game Sound Design Program Director, John Thomas Levee and Local Emerging Artist, Jake Barakat. This project initiative is brought to you by The Champlain College Art Gallery and Game Sound Design Program.
Lakescape is located on Champlain College Campus in the lower level of the Center for Creative Media building on the corner of Maple St. and South Willard St.
