This project is a collaboration with Artists in Residence Barbara & Norton Garber. Over a two week period they will explore the ancient art of Haiku not only in words but with visual imagery and sound. Working on the Gallery walls, imbued with the liberating forces of simplicity and subtraction, they will compose visual and sound Haiku. Student’s from Core class “Gender in Japan” will work alongside the Garber’s to create their own visual & auditory haikus. Michiko Oishi will be reading her own haiku’s in Japanese & English during the night of the reception.
Closing reception with Q&A and Haiku reading: 11/21 4-6PM
The final result of the collaboration installation will be on display until 11/27.
