Aeroscape: The Promise of Frutiger Aero
Craig Winslow and IXD 350 Interactive Design Students
October 25 – December 5
A vibrant interactive exhibit immersing visitors within the utopian Frutiger Aero dream and the bright future it envisioned. Linger long enough and cracks begin to show within the simulation revealing a desaturation and a sobering hidden narrative.
Frutiger Aero is a user interface design style from the early- mid aughts evoking a dual sense of nature and technological utopia. Recently repopularized through social media, Frutiger Aero evokes a nostalgia for an ideation of a non-existent promised future.
What you see in the gallery is a conversation between ideas, technology, real and imagined outcomes, and the optimism that emerges from trying to materialize an interactive exhibition with a limited amount of time and endless creative possibilities that begin with the question “What If…”
Champlain College alum, Craig Winslow, is an artist and designer who uses light to create playful narrative-driven visualizations. He is the Founder and Director of Winslow Studio an experiential design studio specializing in the creation of immersive experiences that blend traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology.
IXD-350 Interaction Design Production is a course taught by
Creative Media Program Director, Al Larsen.

Champ Jam Hack-a-thon
November 7-9, Lakeside
ChampJam & Hackathon is our first on-campus game jam since before COVID. The jam/hackathon will focus on a theme, run 24 hours, and include exclusive participation categories: analog game, digital game, hackathon, and Anthropic-sponsored/Claude-assisted. It will start Friday November 7 and conclude Sunday November 9 with a project showcase and award ceremony.
Who can participate?
ChampJam & Hackathon is a free event open to all trad Champlain College students.
What will I be expected to do?
ChampJam & Hackathon’s mission is to challenge and inspire techies and makers of all skill levels to creatively solve problems through play. As a participant, you will be tasked to create a game or project inspired by a super secret prompt given at the start of the event. The catch? You’ve only got 24 hours to do it!
Do I need to have prior experience?
Nope! Volunteer mentors will be present at a help desk during jamming hours to help you if you get stuck along the way or run into technical issues. Many of our volunteers also have prior game jam experience and can also give advice on how to bring your best self to the competition.
You have my interest… What’s on the line?
Oh, a host of wonders, my friends! Not only are bragging rights at stake, but so are cash prizes!
Will I be expected to work all 24 hours?
While you’re the one in charge of your schedule for the weekend, we encourage you and your team to take time for breaks and sleep. You don’t need to run yourself ragged to win.
