The annual Champlain College Game History Collection Exhibition kicks off the 2026 Fall Semester with a special focus on women+ game developers. This year we have over 25 gaming stations in both our main gallery and the gallery lounge. Every two weeks, this exhibit will be reset with new games focusing on genre and design. For a full list of what is available by week, please see below. The last two weeks of this exhibit (9/26–10/9) are curated by Minerva Webster-Pact and highlight games designed and programmed by Rebecca Heineman.
The Champlain College Game History Collection archive is donation-based and began in 2011. It has since grown into a survey of artifacts telling the story of game development, design, and preservation. Our collection is unique in that it is used for educational purposes, inviting students, faculty, staff, and visitors to participate in playing games the way they were originally intended. On display, you will see consoles, controllers, and televisions alongside computers and monitors, alongside MiSTer Project FPGAs connected to large flatscreens. Our goal: to provide as many different ways as possible to experience playing video games IRL.
The gaming stations are here for your enjoyment—please play them! Our only requests are that you keep food and drinks outside of the main gallery and that you respect the equipment by returning controllers to their podiums or tables.
